About this section
Korea is compact enough that you can see several regions in one trip, but transfers still eat time. A good itinerary is mostly about choosing fewer bases and using the fast trains well.
How these itineraries are built. Each plan here is built from real train and bus times, the days when key sights are closed, and how long it actually takes to get from a station to your hotel. Rather than cram, each plan says what to cut if you have less time.
Common shapes. A first trip often looks like Seoul plus one other region: Seoul and Busan by KTX, Seoul and Gyeongju, or Seoul plus a few days on Jeju by air. Longer trips add the east coast (Gangneung), the southwest (Jeonju, Gwangju, Mokpo) or a ferry hop to Japan from Busan.
Before you plan. Check how long-distance trains are booked in how to book KTX tickets, and read up on transit cards in Getting Around.
Itineraries will be published here, each with transport details, sources and a facts-checked date.
